There is a fountain filled with blood
Whenever I celebrate the Lord's Supper, I am reminded of Calvary's cross where God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus as a sacrifice for our sin. I am reminded of the shed blood of the Lamb of God; the cleansing blood by which my guilty stains are removed. The last verse of the hymn holds special meaning to me: 'Lord, I believe Thou hast prepared, unworthy though I be, for me a blood bought free reward, a golden harp for me! 'Tis strung and tuned for endless years, and formed by power divine, to sound in God the Father's ears no other Name but Thine'. I look forward to the day when I shall exchange my steel-string guitar for a golden harp to play before the Father through endless years, and sing a new song to the the Lamb together with the myriads of saints in the Heaven. Do join me in worship to the Father with this hymn.
