'Maybe It's Ok' We Are Messengers Live Performance
Darren Mulligan, the lead singer of We Are Messengers, shares an enthusiastic performance with the audience, and the people in the crowd can be seen praising along with him in the Grand Ole Opry. In the video, they are clapping and singing along with the important message of the song.
“If I didn't know what it hurt like to be broken
Then how would I know what it feels like to be whole
If I didn't know what it cuts like to be rejected
Then I wouldn't know the joy of coming home
Maybe it's ok if I'm not ok
Cause the one who holds the world is holding onto me
Maybe it's alright if I'm not alright
Cause the one who holds the stars is holding my whole life”
After singing one of the verses of the song, Darren Mulligan shouts “Anybody free in the Opry tonight?” to the audience. The crowd responds with shouts of affirmation, knowing how beautiful it is to be free in our Savior.
Along with the moving lyrics of ‘Maybe It’s Ok,’ the song also has such a beautiful, full sound because of all the instruments that are on stage. There are drums, guitars, and string instruments behind the singer that really drive the song.
Darren shared about his heart behind ‘Maybe It’s Ok’ in an interview after the song was released. “I believe that God works all things together for the good of those that love Him. But I can't escape the fact that we're hurting, anxious, disappointed, and afraid. This song is my surrender. By admitting that I need God to put everything right. I find that Jesus is with me in the heartache holding onto me and leading through the tough times. Everything sad is being undone. But it's going to take a little time. Getting well is a messy business. So, take it easy on yourself.”
We Are Messengers is currently on tour this summer and will be performing this powerful song for many audiences in the coming months.
