The U.S. and Israel are reportedly discussing a joint 'surgical strike' on Iran. According to The Times of Israel, Israel and the US are reportedly working on a limited joint attack on Iran aimed at setting the country's nuclear program back several years without inflaming the region. The report comes after weeks of strained discussions between Israel and the US on how to deal with Iran's nuclear program, with the US refusing to set "red lines" for Iran that, if crossed, would trigger military action.

Coptic families attacked with machine-gun fire. According to Morning Star News, Egyptian Christians in North Sinai feel unprotected and in danger following threats and a machine-gun attack that has driven several families from the border town of Rafah. Yusuf Zaki, spokesman for the Egypt Coptic Alliance, said, "The situation of Christians in Sinai is very dangerous. They feel that they are not protected by the government and the army."

Earthquake hits eastern Indonesia.
