Introduction to the Liturgy of the Hours

The Liturgy of the Hours is the official prayer of the Catholic Church. It is essentially a way by which the entire Body of Christ prays the Psalms and other Biblical texts over the course of a day so that the people of God will offer a constant prayer (as St. Paul commanded) of praise and thanksgiving to God in union with each other. In the Liturgy of the Hours, millions pray together daily, offering the same prayer of praise and thanksgiving.

However, the Liturgy of the Hours unfortunately seems very confusing to many people. I attempt to explain how to say the prayer in a way that helps people figure it out. I also introduce the Liturgy of the Hours and explain what it is and offer some things you may not know about it.
