Best Man Pranks Groom With Ring Pop During Wedding Ceremony

Weddings are joyous and celebratory occasions, and, sometimes, the best man pranks the groom by handing him a ring pop during the ceremony!

Reverence is most often present during today’s nuptials, but many also include a touch of silliness, too! And, that’s what this younger brother—always, the younger one—provided!

Even after a warning from groom Dontae, Best Man Shadon can’t resist, and it’s as if the sanctuary full of family and friends expects nothing else! Dontae says to Shadon, “Don’t play, don’t play with…,” and Shadon responds with an irritated look, a head shake, and an assurance that he knows what to do. How could he act foolishly in such a dignified and snazzy tuxedo?

The minister has asked the bride and groom to collect the rings from the Maid of Honor and the Best Man. The ladies behave perfectly. After digging in his jacket pocket for a couple of seconds, appearing offended at the mere suggestion that he would “pull” anything, Shadon pulls out a ring pop!

The place erupts in laughter, minister included! Dontae covers his mouth as if to hide the grin that spreads across his face in spite of himself. The bride is a good sport; she’s laughing, probably very familiar with the antics of her future husband and his baby brother! She is a doll, as are her attendants!

Shadon puts away the candy ring and retrieves the real, non-edible one now. He hands it to Dontae with an extra thrust and a look toward the crowd just to add the final touch and comedic timing to the gag. He’s quite a character, and, no doubt, the wedding—and life—wouldn’t be the same without him!

Dontae shakes his head as if annoyed and not at all surprised by Shadon’s shenanigans, but we know better. He turns back toward his bride, and they work to compose themselves before moving forward. This will be just one of the fine memories from this couple’s once-in-a-lifetime day!

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” Ephesians 5:31
