Christians aren't supposed to be sad or blue, so as a result, you never hear a blues sounding song in church. My dad wanted to change that with a blues song. He wrote "I can't sing the Blues" that goes on to say "because I got Jesus in my heart." He was nervous that some of the little old ladies in the church just might grab their purse and walk right out, when they heard the bluesy beat. He made me promise to have a good lead into the song. It was very well received with a standing ovation, and clapping and singing along. It was great fun!
