In All Things, Through All Things (An AAMOF Doctrine-umentary): Cain and Abel

The story of the first murder, told in the story of Cain and Abel, is more than a story of jealousy and spite, it is more than just a story about the iniquity that came to grip the heart of Cain. It is a tale about how we are supposed to care for our fellow man, how we are supposed to give ourselves to the Lord and humble ourselves to Him even when we find ourselves gripped by sin. We can, by the power of God, overcome sin, if we turn our hearts to the Lord. Yet, when we fail to do that the consequences, as Cain and Abel would find, are horrendous as responsibility cannot be escaped.

God shows us the path He wants us to embark upon, seeking us out as He shows us His grace and mercy, as He shows us His love and compassion that we may understand His lessons. It is up to us to listen so that we can be better and do better in our lives. Otherwise we are destroyed by our own sin and iniquity, by our own destructive and corrupted natures as we turn ourselves over to the darker thoughts and let them overtake us.
