This big brother is overcome with emotion as he holds his little brother, a rainbow baby, for the very first time. There is truly nothing sweeter than the relationship between siblings. It is a bond that is different than anything else in this world. God has put these special people into our lives for a reason and watching the relationship strengthen over time is absolutely amazing.

One of the best things is when a big brother or sister meets their new sibling for the very first time. You can never quite predict the reaction, but you just know it’s going to be memorable. 6-year-old Mikey has been wishing for a baby brother for years. Mikey’s mother suffered from infertility issues, including a prior miscarriage, so they weren’t sure if they’d ever be able to make Mikey’s dream come true. So imagine their surprise when the family found out that they were pregnant. Heaven must’ve heard Mikey’s pleas because they welcomed a boy named Jake who was born 9 weeks early and weighed just 1.7 pounds.

After 60 days in the NICU, it was finally time for Mikey to hold his baby brother for the very first time. And words cannot describe the emotions during that moment. I can’t imagine how everyone held it together during this special meeting and it’s definitely one that no one is going to forget.

I’m so glad they were able to record Mikey and his baby brother because this is a memory that will be cherished for a lifetime. God truly knew what He was doing when He blessed some of us with siblings of our own. Don’t you agree?
