Tiny hands and feet are in God's hand now.

Having a baby is one of God’s most precious gifts, they bring so much joy to their parents, grandparents, and to anyone that gets to hold them and smell that sweet baby smell. But for many parents, this deep joy is turned into deep sorrow when their baby passes away before they even had a chance to meet. Teresa Golik knits tiny cradles for babies who have gone to be with Jesus earlier than expected... she knits them with the hopes that no parents will ever need them.

“I mostly think, well, I hope we don’t have to use them, unfortunately, in this world, you have to have them,” said Teresa.

Teresa is a nurse and mother. She answered her 'cradle call' when her daughter lost her baby girl when she came into this world prematurely and stillborn. It was a feeling that she will never forget, but a tiny little cradle helped to make the family’s last moments with their baby girl intimate and sweet.

“Bridget was only 13 ounces, not even a pound. So, it was hard to feel the weight of her and be able to look at her, swallowed up in the blanket. And, so being in the cradle, it felt so much more personable. We could really bond and love on her and bring her up to our lips and give her a kiss, be able to pass her to our family members, who wanted to love on her and bond with her, in those moments we had,” said Teresa’s daughter Ashley.

Now, this has become a ministry for the family, Bridget’s Cradles. Teresa gives her handmade cradles to families in their local hospital that have lost a child. This gift opens up an opportunity to minister and pour into the lives of grieving parents.

“[A mother] lost a little baby girl. So, I came down and got a cradle and brought it up to her. She was tearful, and we were able to share our stories. So, that was very helpful.” Teresa said.

Teresa and her family have depended on their faith in Jesus to help them heal. He has been faithful to them and has brought them peace during their storm. Now the family wants to spread this healing to others, and the tiny cradles open the door to do so.

“We really feel like Bridget came to this earth for a purpose and God had a mission for her. So, we feel really just blessed to be able to serving and a small role for her life on earth,” Ashley said.

Sweet Bridget's memory gives Teresa the inspiration to keep on knitting, and she knits with the love of a grandmother.

“I know we’ll see her in heaven, but I know she’s looking down, and hopefully, happy we can do something for the good of others,” Teresa said.
