Paralyzed Pup Tyrion Finds New Life With a Doggie Wheelchair

God’s goodness can show up for us in many ways. Sometimes it is in surprising ways, such as when He helps our beloved furry friends. A paralyzed dog named Tyrion finds a new life with his doggie wheelchair after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.

For many years, Tyrion was an active and healthy dog with no problems. He could run and play for hours without any difficulties. All of this changed one day after he woke up from a nap. His owner, Dagmar Gudmundsso, explained the situation: “He woke up from the nap, I noticed he was like, kind of walking a little funny.”

The Paralyzed Dog Gets a Diagnosis

Dagmar took Tyrion to the vet, where multiple tests were performed. Originally, it was thought that Tyrion had intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), but after MRI testing, it was discovered that Tyrion’s spine had significant inflammation. Based on the MRI findings, the vet diagnosed Tyrion with GME (granulomatous meningoencephalitis). GME occurs when the immune system attacks its own healthy tissue and causes the individual to become paralyzed.

After the vet had identified Tyrion’s condition, they were able to get him on the road to recovery. The first six months were a struggle, however, after starting acupuncture and hydrotherapy, he started doing much better. A month after he had become paralyzed, Tyrion was fitted for a wheelchair. Ever since this time, Tyrion has been back to his usual self, full of energy and full of life. Dagmar states concerning Tyrion’s wheelchair, “He's like, I'm free. I can run again – loved it immediately.”

God’s Care For Animals

Tyrion’s story reminds us of God’s provision and care for animals. The story wasn’t over for Tyrion. Instead, it was a new start and a new beginning. God cares about every single animal as He created them, and He loves them. Although Tyrion is paralyzed now, he still has a happy and full life. The Lord's blessing was shown to Tyrion and Dagmar in the pup’s wheelchair.
