Actress Chrissy Metz Left Hollywood For Nashville and She Couldn't Be Happier

Chrissy Metz, actress and singer, left Hollywood for Nashville, and she couldn’t be happier. Nashville truly feels like a great fit for the This is Us actress. The 44-year-old star loves what the area has to offer her.

"There's a lot going on," she says. "There's obviously great music, great food. I grew up in the South, so I'm used to sort of that hospitality — it feels more communal here. In L.A. it was always like, 'Oh, you have an audition? What's it for? Oh, you have an audition? What for?' It was all very dog eat dog!"

It sounds like a breath of fresh air. Everything is 15 minutes away, and it's just so much less stress," Chrissy shared.

Being closer to family and everything being so close are definitely two big pluses to living in Nashville. The move isn’t the only new thing in her life.

In addition to her acting and singing, Chrissy Metz just published her new children’s book, When I Talk to God, I Talk About Feelings. The book, which came out April 8th, is a sequel to When I Talk to God, I Talk About You, which came out in 2023.

Prayer is a Big Part of Chrissy Metz’s Life

"I taught preschool for five years, and ultimately kids always want to talk about their feelings," the actress says of her book. "They want to feel seen and heard."

Chrissy, a Christian herself, shares that prayer is a big part of her life. "I pray all the time, anywhere for everyone," she tells PEOPLE. "If I'm flying, I pray for every single person who gets on the plane, every piece of the plane, the pilots, the flight attendants, even if it's about positive collective consciousness if that's what you want to call it. I think it really helps and transcends when you have no control over the situation. Prayer for me is a way of life."

And yes, prayer should be a way of life for all of us.

We are happy to hear Chrissy has found a new home that she loves. Her talents have inspired many, from her role as Kate Pearson in This is Us to her music and children’s books. We can’t wait to see what else she will do!
