Christmas Time - 2007 version - Cute Videos

Singer Hector Saldana wrote the song for his baby son's first Christmas in 1979. The Krayolas recorded "Christmas Time" at Charlie Bickley Studio in Houston, Texas in 1980, and it was rushed out as 45 r.p.m. vinyl single after John Lennon was murdered that December as a tribute to the band's favorite Beatle. This is an updated version of the original release. The new recordings, "Christmas Time" and "Tex-Mex Rudolph" were recorded and mixed on Nov. 4, 2007 at Blue Cat Recording Studio. The videos were shot the following evening. This time the viewer is inside Ed Clark's famous Christmas House, a shrine that he began after the death of his wife, Francis, on Christmas Eve 1983. To some, the setting might come across as "The Twilight Zone" in color, but for the friendly Mr. Christmas, it's perfect. He's the unscripted star of the clip. There is a fun little backstory, too. In the video, singer Hector Saldana is playing the Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar on which he wrote the song late one night in December 1979 in a small apartment on Jackson-Keller Road. Jason was asleep on a baby blanket on the floor near the lighted Christmas tree. Another tidbit: The cute little blonde boy in the new video is Jones McNamara whose father, Chad, and his uncle, Wade, and his aunt, Jill, were on the cover photograph for the original "Christmas Time" single. The flip side was "Cry Cry, Laugh Laugh." Cinematographer and editor Carlos Haney created the beautiful look of both Christmas videos.
