Fiesta Guadalupe. "Pinata"
Fiesta Guadalupe, at Sisters of Life retreat house,Villa Maria Guadalupe. Msgr. Eduardo Chavez was from theBasilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City and was the quest speaker. Msgr. was incredible! and made be a believer in Our Lady of Guadalupe, that I doubted. "doubting Thomas"
They had a pinata for the children, and I took some quick times of the event.
The sisters made an incredible lunch of different Mexican dishes.
It was really a fun day.
"Pinata"
In the Mexican Catholic celebration of Christmas, the pinata is traditionally shaped like a seven-pointed star which represents the devil
and the seven deadly sins, while the contents are the goods or blessings he is withholding. Striking the devil with faith, symbolized by being
blindfolded, releases the blessings.
"Pope John Paul II commended the Virgin of Guadalupe to us as the The star of the New Evangelization."
