Hmong United Methodist Academy Fall 2008
On November 2 - 6, 2008 at the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort in South Lake Tahoe, California, from the welcome letter, the Hmong United Methodist Academy Director - Rev. Paul Joseph Yang - wrote: "Grace and peace to you in the magnificent transformation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into many languages. I want to welcome you to our 1st Annual Hmong United Methodist Academy. There's so much ahead for us during these 5 days and 4 nights. The two primary motives for this year's HUMA are (1) To translate into HMong some of the Local Church sections in the Book of Discipline; and (2) To find Sabbath time away from our daily routines. With majestic expectations, I want to thank you for your willingness to serve and attend the Hmong United Methodist Academy. I also thank, with great appreciations, the following organizations for making this year's Academy possible: (1) California/Nevada Annual Conference Committee on Hmong Ministry; (2) Memorial United Methodist Church / Christian Hmong Regeneration In Spiritual Transformation: C.H.R.I.S.T. Church; and (3) The Hmong Caucus of the California/Nevada Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. Enjoy God's splendid creation of Lake Tahoe."
