Dr.OWENS BIO Dr. Andre' H. Owens is the Senior Minister of the St. Phillips Baptist
Church,Washington, D.C. where he has been since 1977. A native Washingtonian, Dr. Owens retired after 31 years as a teacher, counselor, Vice Principal, and Principal in the D.C. Public School System. His next employment soon followed and after ten years, he recently retired as a Music Supervisor Specialist for the Prince Georges Public School System, Maryland. He has earned degrees from Howard University and a Doctorate from the University of Maryland. Advanced graduate-level studies have been completed at American University, Trinity College, and Howard University School of Divinity, all in Washington, D.C. A preacher who is in frequent demand, Dr. Owens has taught Christian Education classes throughout the nation and Southeast Asia. Among numerous positions he holds includes: Department Administrator for the Theology Division, National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. where he establishes policy and procedures for the National Study of Christian Theology.
