Sermon: "The Song of the Redeemed," Isaiah 42:10-17. First Presbyterian Church Perkasie
Why has the Christian faith produced so much in the way of hymns and worship music? What is it about this faith that prompts such joy that its churches echo with hymns of praise to the Lord? Pastor MacLaren shows from the words of the prophet Isaiah that our hymns reflect God's new work of redemption, a redemption that reveals God's great work as our Divine Warrior who defeats our enemies and leads us to victory. This sermon was preached at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA (USA) on August 1, 2010. Rev. Richard Scott MacLaren is the pastor. For information about the church, see www.firstchurchopc.org.
