"Jesus, Take the Wheel" is a Grammy Award-winning song written by Brett James, Hillary Lindsey and Gordie Sampson. It is the first single from Carrie Underwood's debut album, Some Hearts. The song was nominated for Song of the Year, and won Best Female Country Vocal Performance as well as Best Country Song at the Grammy Awards.

"Jesus, Take the Wheel" was certified Platinum by the RIAA in April 2006.

The song debuted at #39 on the Billboard US country charts, marking it the first time in that chart's history that a singer's debut single was already Top 40 in its first week.

Her debut album, Some Hearts, has yielded five #1 hits to date on various charts in the United States and Canada: "Inside Your Heaven," "Jesus, Take the Wheel", "Don't Forget to Remember Me", "Wasted," and her biggest hit to date, "Before He Cheats." In addition, Underwood scored another Top 10 Billboard hit with her charity single, "I'll Stand by You."
