NASCAR Driver Ryan Newman Speaks After 'Miraculous' Survival From Crash
NASCAR driver Ryan Newman is giving credit to the angels after surviving a fiery crash during the Daytona 500.
On February 17, 2020 Ryan was entering the final lap of the annual stock car race when trouble started. Ryan was in the lead but after a bump from the driver behind him, Ryan’s car went into a spin that included going airborne.
After landing upside down, officials raced to extricate Ryan from the fiery vehicle. He was quickly taken to the hospital where he was said to be in serious condition.
Footage of the wreck had many people gasping and praying for his safety. But after just two days in the hospital, Ryan was released with zero broken bones or serious ailments. Aside from a ‘bruised brain’ and some bumps and bruises on his body, Ryan was otherwise in great shape.
Recently, he sat down with The Today Show to discuss the incredible recovery and give credit to the real Healer. "Just a miracle on so many levels, and thankful for so many people for prayers, for all the things that went into me being safer in that situation."
Ryan went on to say that so many things lined up perfectly to result in him sitting here today. "The angels aligned and held a really good grip with their hands.” And if you’re wondering if Ryan is nervous about returning to NASCAR, the answer is a resounding ‘no.’
After explaining that racing was a part of who he is, Ryan is anxious to get back into a car and go racing.
