'You Waited' Travis Greene Live Performance
Award-winning artist Travis Greene shares a live performance of his song ‘You Waited’ at a praise conference in Orlando. You can hear such passion and zeal for the Lord in his voice when he sings his lyrics.
“You called out my name
Knew my past, covered my shame
This amazing grace
You've shown, so patiently
You've shown, so patiently
And You, waited for me
Just for me
For me”
The people in the audience show the same enthusiasm for the Lord when they sing ‘You Waited.’ It’s powerful to see them worshiping to the song and encountering God’s presence.
Greene shares about how he got the inspiration from God to write the song.
“I write based on revelations that God burns in my heart,” Greene says. “And honestly, I was on a plane and I landed, and it was just so loud in my heart. He revealed to me just His patience, and it wrecked me.”
He then goes on to talk about what inspired some of the verses in ‘You Waited.’
“I love the story of the woman at the well in John 4,” shares Travis. “And that’s what I’m talking about in the first verse. Really, I just thought about the fact that, not only did Jesus encounter her, be he waited for her to get there for the divine appointment. The next verse [of the song] is about the prodigal son coming home. You know the father sees him from afar the Bible says. Just kind of using my imagination, he must have been waiting for him to come home. It just shows us the love of our Heavenly Father.”
What a beautiful song that reminds us of how God is so patient and gracious towards us! May we show that same patience and grace towards others in our lives.
