In the midst of a cruel and bloody war, the captain of the army made a vow in front of all his soldiers to slaughter the whole population of a certain town. As soon as the bloodthirsty men arrived at the place, they started entering homes and killing every person alive. A fugitive espied a group of soldiers and watched in horror how these men entered the houses and without mercy ran a sword through each person in the house. When they came out, one of the soldiers would take a piece of cloth, dip it in some blood and then splatter it on the door. This was to show all those who followed what had happened inside. door
