In all the steps that I have walked

In all the steps that I have walked

In all the steps that I have walked

In all the steps that I have walked
I cannot get to where I’ve been
No mental image of where I go.
I’m just following the Holy Ghost.

And if I stumble alone the way
I know the ghost will save my day.
In all the steps that I have walked
No two have ever been the same.

The paths and roads that my feet have walked
Have caress the grass and sandy shores
I’ve permanently have imprinted
My soles upon her soul.

And like a voice that echoes for eternity
My footsteps will always tarry.
Though they may be weary
In the echoes that return to me.

In all the steps that I have walked
With shoes or with bare feet
The best have been by necked soles
That callused both my feet.

When I was young I loved to run
And walk for miles just for fun.
But now I’m old and not so well adjusted

In all the steps that I have walk
No two have been the same
And like a candle that melts away
Only my memories remain.
