NASA Team Captures Hayabusa Spacecraft Reentry
A group of astronomers get a front row seat to observe the unmanned Hayabusa spacecraft's death plunge. The high-speed re-entry took place over an unpopulated area of central Australia on June 13, 2010. The spacecraft from Japan had just completed a seven-year, 1.25 billion mile journey to return a sample of the asteroid Itokawa.
