Firefighter And Daughter Share Heartwarming Reunion After Weeks Apart

A firefighter father and his sweet daughter share a heartwarming reunion after spending weeks apart while he was fighting fires on the West coast.

Quincy Blount is part of the McKinney Fire Department in Texas, and he was one of 234 other firefighters from his state to travel to California to help contain the devastating wildfires that have been blazing in the West. Millions of acres have already burned, and, sadly, more than 30 people have died. When Quincy’s family heard the news, they were especially worried for his safety.

His 7-year-old daughter, Adley, wanted to know when her dad would be home because she knew she would really miss him while he was gone. Her dad was away for about 3 weeks before coming home and being reunited with his family.

“Daddy!” yells Adley as she frantically bust through the front door of their house after seeing her father pull up to their home after all those weeks away. He is so thrilled to see her running fast toward him, and he picks her up and wraps her in a big hug.

As the fires continue to burn in the western states, there is a chance that Quincy may have to go back to help fight them in the near future. Thankful he is safe at home now and can enjoy some needed time with his family. God bless our firefighters!

Matthew 22:36-40
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
