Golden Buzzer Cristina Rae Performs 'Hallelujah' On AGT

Golden buzzer winner Cristina Rae returns to the America’s Got Talent stage for an inspiring rendition of ‘Hallelujah.’

Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ is one of the most popular songs of all time. The powerful song was originally released in 1984, but it wasn’t until Jeff Buckley released the song on his 1994 album, ‘Grace’ that the song really started to gain momentum.

Since that time, it’s become a worldwide phenomenon and truly cemented itself in music history. Over the years, many artists have covered the tune, which sounds like a perfect blend of a rock ballad and a gospel song.

“Well I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this

The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah”

Today, AGT hopeful Cristina Rae is putting her own stamp on this iconic song as she performs in the quarterfinals. You may remember Cristina from her first audition when she shared with the judges that she is a single mom working to make a better life for her son.

After her first song didn’t quite land, Simon asked her to perform a second song. And when Cristina belted out the words to ‘Gimme Shelter’ by The Rolling Stones, it was enough for judge Heidi Klum to press the golden buzzer.

Now, Cristina is continuing to chase her dream with this inspiring performance of ‘Hallelujah.’ Who thinks that this talented singer has enough to win the entire competition?
