A playful black bear climbs the playground and rides the slide just like a kid. And suddenly, your backyard becomes a scene straight out of a Pixar movie—with a wild twist of fur, fun, and "did that just happen?!"
Sarah Loving and her family had no idea what kind of magic was waiting for them when they came home from lunch in Simsbury, Connecticut. Bears? Sure, they’d seen them before. It’s New England, after all. But this bear? This one was different. This one came with a mission and a pretty impressive sense of childlike joy.

There were two bears, to be exact, lumbering around like curious toddlers with paws. One ambled up to the family’s backyard playset, glanced at the ladder like, “Challenge accepted,” and began to climb.
“Oh my goodness!” you can hear someone gasp in the video, half in shock, half in sheer glee.
And then—this is where things got downright hilarious—the bear made it to the top, gave the green plastic slide a little sniff, and sat himself down like a pro.
“Is he going to go down the slide?” someone asks, because surely this isn’t real life.
But it was. The bear shoved off, belly down, paws forward, and glided down the slide like he'd done it a hundred times before. There was no hesitation. No clumsy flop. Just pure, unfiltered slide joy.
Cue: human laughter, stunned silence, and the kind of wide-eyed wonder we adults forget we still have inside us.
“They seemed so comfortable on the playscape,” Sarah said later. “We just kept joking that they probably have been before, but we have not seen a bear go down the playscape before, ever.”
It was one of those moments that cracks something open in you. Because honestly? We could all use a little more bear-on-the-slide energy. We could all stand to loosen the grip, climb the ladder, and trust the ride down.
In a world that rushes and worries and overthinks every single thing, a bear reminds us to just play. To laugh loud. To stop in our tracks and see the wonder right in front of us—even if it’s fuzzy and on four legs.
Because sometimes, the most sacred thing you can do isn’t hustle harder. It’s to slide.
