27 Best Lee Strobel Quotes
April 06, 2013

Lee Strobel is a famous American Christian author who wrote the popular “Case For Christ: A Journalist’s Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus.” He is also an investigative journalist and pastor who is happily married. Strobel has received ECPA Christian Book Awards for his work as an author. He is a great speaker and one of the key figures who helped me come to the cross in my walk. He offers a very unique prospective to the audience as someone that once did not believe in Christianity but now has converted due to overwhelming evidence of the Holy Trinity. Below are 27 of Lee Strobel’s best quotes from his body of work as a Christian.
Quotes
27. “For me, apologetics proved to be the turning point of my life and eternity. I’m thankful for the scholars who so passionately and effectively defend the truth of Christianity – and today my life’s goal is to do my part in helping others get answers to the questions that are blocking them in their spiritual journey toward Christ.”
26. “When we help seekers diagnose which path they’re treading, assist them in avoiding its pitfalls, and expose them to the logic and evidence that uniquely support the Christian faith, we’re introducing them to the only spiritual option that truly qualifies to be called the way, the truth, and the life.”
25. “Jesus Christ did not come into this world to make bad people good; he came into this world to make dead people live.”
24. “Acrid bitterness inevitably seeps into the lives of people who harbor grudges and suppress anger, and bitterness is always a poison. It keeps your pain alive instead of letting you deal with it and get beyond it. Bitterness sentences you to relive the hurt over and over.”
23. “Do we have any records from first-century ‘journalists’ who interviewed eyewitnesses, asked tough questions, and faithfully recorded what they scrupulously determined to be true?”
22. “ If Jesus sets the divine standard for mortality, I could now have an unwavering foundation for my choices and decisions, rather than basing them on the ever-shifting sands of expediency and self-centeredness.”
21. “The medical evidence is clear and mounting. It’s no exaggeration to say that bitterness is a dangerous drug in any dosage and that your health is at risk if you stubbornly persist in being unforgiving.”
20. “Only in a world where faith is difficult can faith exist.”
19. “Often it is hard. So hard, in fact, that Jesus’ decree to love and pray for our opponents is regarded as one of the most breathtaking and gut-wrenching challenges of his entire Sermon on the mount, a speech renowned for its outrageous claims. There was no record of any other spiritual leader ever having articulated such a clear-cut, unambiguous command for people to express compassion to those who are actively working against their best interests.”
18. “If your friend is sick and dying, the most important thing he wants is not an explanation; he wants you to sit with him. He’s terrified of being alone more than anything else. So, God has not left us alone.”
17. “In short, I didn’t become a Christian because God promised I would have an even happier life than I had as an atheist. He never promised any such thing. Indeed, following him would inevitably bring divine demotions in the eyes of the world. Rather, I became a Christian because the evidence was so compelling that Jesus really is the one-and-only Son of God who proved his divinity by rising from the dead. That meant following him was the most rational and logical step I could possibly take.”
16. “Faith is only as good as the one in whom it’s invested.”
"The Truth" (2 Corinthians 5:14-15) For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
15. “People think, ‘Well, if you know your Bible, then this book won’t affect you.’ That’s not true, because a lot of the allegations deal with church history. They deal with classic history and ancient history. Consequently, a person can know their Bible but still be confused by the allegations in the book.”
14. “If you’re a follower of Jesus but you feel distant from him during this era of your life, if you’re having difficulty resting easy in his forgiveness, could it be because you’re blatantly refusing to let go of your animosity toward another person.”
13. Jesus changed me and just watching her dad change, my daughter went to her mom and asked God to do for me what God did for dad.”
12. “If we can engage (the non-Christian audience) , talk with them, let them give their opinions, do what 1 Peter 3:15 says, not only defend what we believe, but do it with gentleness and respect so that we can not demean them because they believe the ridiculous stuff in the book and movie, but we just engage with them.”
11. “I’m noticing an exciting trend around the country: a resurgence of interest in Christian apologetics (the defense of the faith). This is a reaction to the current attacks on the essentials of Christianity that are coming from militant atheists, radical professors, and internet gadflies.”
10. “To be honest, I didn’t want to believe that Christianity could radically transform someone’s character and values. It was much easier to raise doubts and manufacture outrageous objections that consider the possibility that God actually could trigger a revolutionary turn-around in such a depraved and degenerate life.”
9. “ Few things accelerate the peace process as much as humbly admitting our own wrongdoing and asking forgiveness.”
8. “I’ve seen far too many Christians who are more than willing to travel halfway around the world to volunteer for a week in an orphanage, but who cannot bring themselves to take the personal risk of sharing Jesus with the co-worker who sits day after day in the cubicle right next to them.”
7. “Believing the right things about Jesus isn’t enough. You’re not adopted as God’s child until you confess and turn away from your wrongdoing and receive the freely offered gift of forgiveness and eternal life that Jesus purchases with his death on the cross. Until you do that, you’ll always be on the outside looking in.”
6. “Let me be the first to confess: there are times when I suffer from evangelism fatigue. I know I should care, I should reach out to them, I know I should talk to them about Jesus-but my motivation meter is hovering at low voltage.”
5. “The real issue is whether the sources we do have are credible - and in the case of the New Testament, they certainly are! And keep in mind that Matthew, Mark , Luke, and John report what Jesus’ contemporaries know to be true about him.”
4. “If Jesus is the Son of God, his teachings are more than just good ideas from a wise teacher, they are divine insights on which I can confidently build my life.”
3. “It was the evidence from science and history that prompted me to abandon my atheism and become a Christian.”
2. “I went to a psychologist friend and said if 500 people claimed to see Jesus after he died, is it possible it was just a hallucination? He said hallucinations are an individual event. If 500 people have the same hallucination, that’s a bigger miracle than the resurrection.”
1. “I saw the positive changes in my wife. I never heard the real message of Christ before and didn’t believe. But if it’s true, this would have huge implications for my life.”
