Make Your Church Life a Priority

Welcome to this Sunday’s edition of the Summer Discipleship Program. I am Jim Loper, and our focus on Sunday is: Make Your Church Life a Priority

(Heb. 10:24,25 NKJV) says 24And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

It is the manner of an increasing number of Christians in our culture to forsake the regular assembling of ourselves together.
But this verse teaches that we are to make our gathering together with the Body of Christ a priority.
So what does regular attendance at church look like in the Bible?
First of all, it was the custom of New Testament believers to meet on the first day of every week for worship, teaching, ministry, fellowship, and to give their tithes and offerings.
(1 Cor. 16:2 NKJV) 2On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come. They called that day the Lord’s Day because Jesus was raised from the dead on the first day of the week. In times of revival they met daily in the Book of Acts.
I would say at the very least you should be gathering together with your church once a week.
And as we see the Day of the Lord approaching we should be gathering together so much the more not so much the less.
