Boat ride through Wakapoa savannah in Guyana

The grasslands around Wakapoa village in Guyana, South America may look like the prairies of the American Midwest. In reality, the grasses are growing in standing water, and the only mode of transportation is by boat. The stream we're riding on here is equivalent to a street, with smaller "driveways" leading off it to the little islands that dot the grasslands and are home to the Amerindian friends we were visiting.
