The Bible's Perspicuity Or Clarity The Priesthood Of All Bel

Today we will make a start on the doctrine of the perspicuity or clarity of Scripture. And in doing so we will notice first of all that the priesthood of all believers means that we may go directly to God without another fallen human priest; and that we may therefore go directly to the Scriptures to discern God's will for our lives. We will notice in our next study (Eph. 4:11) the important role of those set apart to preach the whole counsel of God.

Note: Theologians generally distinguish the general and special object of faith. The one in whom we trust is God in Christ. He is the special object of faith. But because our knowledge of God and His redemptive acts for us are only found in the Bible, our general object of faith is held to be the truth of God as it is found in the Word of God.
