My Baptism!

My Baptism!

A shaky video of my baptism on March 14, 2008!rnrnHere's the short version of the story behind this: I was baptized when I was [maybe] 7 years old, not knowing what it meant to be saved. Years later I realize that I didn't accept God into my heart as my personal lord and savior and that I was baptized in vain! I talk to my pastor about this of course saying something like, "When I was baptized the first time I didn't know what it means to accept Jesus into my heart, I just thought it would be cool to get dipped in water and have people clap for you. Do you think I should be baptized again?" His response was something like, “Yeah brother I think that it would be good to get baptized 'on the right side of your salvation', we get you baptized as soon as possible!" A quick word about Pastor Rob, he’s a very nice man. He’s so loving, dedicated to God’s work, and funny. If you need help in a spiritual crisis or if you need him to heat up the baptismal water at nearly 12:00 at night, he’ll do it no matter how tired and exhausted he may be because he thinks you’re special! Anyway the next Sunday I was baptized! I was excited and I felt the presence of God all around me afterwards! It was great!rnrnFor those of you who aren't baptized or aren't saved, know this: You're not baptized to get saved, you're baptized because you're saved! A dip in the water can’t get you into heaven, sorry. Baptism is (in my opinion and knowledge) an act of obedience towards god and an act of celebration of your salvation! Read the book of Romans to learn about getting saved! It's one of my favorite books of the Bible!
