The Shepherd's Nephew

The Shepherd's Nephew

This is a monologue from a collection called PEOPLE OF THE PASSION, by Mary Betten. You can probably find it in or order it through your local library.

Yesterday was a really terrible day to try to shoot this. I didn't have anything to block the wind. Please forgive the excessive wind noise. Out of the 3 takes I attempted to do, this one was the 1st, and absolute worst, as far as the portrayal is concerned. The gestures, motivation, connection...everything stunk, in my opinion. During the 2nd one, though, the F-18's started up and flying. They are really loud. They are barely audible in this one (as is my voice, thanks to the wind), so please try to pretend that they are the sound of many legions of Roman chariots passing in the distance. On my 3rd try, the wind got so bad it blew over my tripod & camera, even though you can tell I had gone down into a ditch to try to escape the wind. After that, I gave up. I may try to re-shoot this another day. Even if you have no confidence in the Truth of the Story that this tangent character is based on, I hope you will be able to somehow, temporarily suspend your disbelief and at least enjoy the portrayal. Whatever you decide, God Bless You.

All Ways, Sincerely,

ps-I really, Really, REALLY dislike editing with MovieMaker. But sometimes Premiere just won't act right. So, I have to fall back on MovieMaker. Grrr.
