Whats really in the water
As of March 10th, 2008 the Associated Press released the information research regarding the exact contents in public drinking water sources. Water treatment plants are not designed to filter out pharmaceuticals. Being that most bottled water companies get their water from a public water source, (Aquafina) the filter systems they use are no different. Most cities in the U.S get their water from sewage treatment plants. The water they are treating is saturated with pharmaceuticals deposited from the excreted urine and waste from people. Filters and chemicals are not designed to take those Extras out. It all gets flushed through our bodies and into the water supply. The point is simple. Due to the increased rise in prescriptions of 13% in the past 5 years from 2002 2007, the pharmaceutical industry has increased to a 3.8 billion dollar industry. Non prescription drug sales, has continued to rise to an all time high of over 3.3 billion dollars per year. Recently in Philadelphia, scientists have proven that the public drinking water contained 56 different pharmaceuticals. The EPA or Environmental Protection Agency does not require the testing for pharmaceuticals in public water sources.
The reason to worry is simple. Some drugs are designed to be active in low concentrations. Example: If you were to take one sugar cube and drop it into an Olympic size swimming pool, the drug would become highly active.
The following is a list of drugs recently found in public water sources nationwide in 24 cities across the country. These include %@@$# Hormones, Drugs for Livestock,
Anti-Seizure medications, Prescription Pain Kil
