A Question For ID Proponents

If ID is a scientific hypothesis, then it has to be verifiable by empirical evidence. If it can't be, then it's not science. This is not to say that it can't be a philosophical argument, but if there are no experiments that could be performed to investigate its validity then it has not place in the scientific community.
