Husband Selflessly Sells Sneaker Collection To Pay For IVF

After five years of infertility, including nine surgeries and losing eight precious babies through miscarriages, he prayed to find a way to help his wife.

When you want nothing more than to have a child of your own an infertility diagnosis can seem like an undefeatable roadblock. But EJ Wynn wanted to make his wife’s dreams come true–to have a child of their own.

Lauren’s medical team then recommended using IVF to get pregnant. It’s a pricey procedure in which the cost isn't always covered by insurance and sometimes it’s not covered at all.

One round of IVF could cost anywhere between $12,000 to $17,000. The cost alone seemed like a huge roadblock. Yet, EJ knew God had heard their prayers and God would provide a way to help them become parents despite the cost. After a lot of prayer, an idea came to EJ! As a guy who loves fashion, especially collectible shoes–he realized he could sell his entire collection!

His act of faith not only surprised his wife but it surprised other people too when a video of him selling his shoes went viral on TikTok! His sacrifice earned him $4,800 and a deep appreciation from Lauren. Lauren commented, “When EJ decided to sell his shoes, I had no idea and it was tremendous.”

EJ added, “Having a baby is way more important. I had been a shoe collector for a long time so it was a no-brainer.”

Once the couple had scraped enough cash together, they went back to the doctor so Lauren could begin IVF treatment. God blessed their faithfulness and hope because Lauren is now four months pregnant with a little boy. They were beyond overjoyed.

Not only was Lauren stunned and grateful for her husband’s sacrifice, but she also wanted to give him a little surprise to announce he was going to finally become a father. She bought their baby a little pair of sneakers and gave them to her husband.

He was overjoyed and still in a bit of shock. But this goes to prove that when a couple supports each other and helps fight each other’s battles, they can face anything–especially with a little bit of courage and faith.

We are so excited that they are pregnant and we pray their pregnancy continues without any complications. We love they kept their faith and trusted in Lord.

Congratulations to EJ and Lauren!
