On A Donkey Road Messiah

On A Donkey Road Messiah

Christ comes to town looking

For certain reaction

Kids praise Him with Hosannas

To priest's dissatisfaction

He's riding on a colt

The foal a beast of burden

Pharasees and the scribes can't believe their eyes

About to flip their turbens

The crowds they were a shoutin'

Hosanna in the Highest

The Phara-sees said 'Would you please keep your disciples quiet'?

But Jesus answered them

That if they closed their mouths

These rocks you see would honor me

And they would then cry out

On a donkey road Messiah, here He comes

The brothers He done told,

that He would soon be dyin'

But they were not belivin'

and soon they'd be denyin'

He came in to the Temple

and saw them changing cash

He got so mad they were so bad their tables He sure trashed

The Pharasees and scribes

they did not comprehend it

They asked Him for a sign

and then they were contendin'

But Jesus knew their heart,

to them He's a pariah

But still He came with grace,

on a donkey road Messiah

The Sadducees did test Him

about the resurrection

To point out some great flaw

and show Christ's imperfections

But Jesus answered them,

showed Moses did believe

But they would not receive,

that's why they're Sad you see

The Pharasees came too

asked should they pay Rome's taxes

They knew they had Him trapped
