It is certainly not hard to come across a really good Christian book now-a-days.  With authors of old like C.S. Lewis or some of today’s authors like Max Lucado you have option of finding books with solid Christian values on just about any topic.  Although there are many amazing books out there, there are 10 that have done the best in sales.

Here are the top 10 selling Christian books of all time!

10. Ben Hur: A Tale Of The Christ, Lee Wallace

Although there is no way to track how many copies have sold, there was an estimated 1 million copies sold after its release in 1880, so it deserves a spot in this list.

9. Left Behind, Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins

This series really put perspective into the minds and hearts of the world when it arrived.  There will be an end someday.  Eternity is real.  The rapture is real.  The tribulation is real.  To date this series has sold around 4 million copies.

8.  The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren

7. Steps To Christ, Ellen G White

This book has sold over 85 million copies worldwide and is renowned as one of the best books portraying Christ symbolically through Aslan, the lion, who represents Jesus.  If you still have yet to read this one, please do!  I know it changed my life!

5. Foxe’s Book Of Martyrs, John Foxe

This book was published in 1563 and focuses on the people martyred before/during the Reformation movement.  It focuses on the persecution which took place against the Christian church by the Roman Catholic Church as well.  There have been 150 million copies sold to date.

4. The Lord Of The Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien

Say what you may but I have always and will always consider this series to be Christian Fiction.  The lessons learned from the “ring” and its symbolism to sin are so compelling that we all can take a look at ourselves and see where we still need to work on things.  So far this series has sold over 150 million copies worldwide.

3. Pilgrims Progress, John Bunyan

This is an allegorical tale of a man’s journey to heaven through the toils and troubles of life.  He goes through many hard and difficult times while pondering how to carry on with all of his sins burdening him.  It is a wonderful book and the irony of it all is that John Bunyan wrote it in a trial of his own, while he was in prison.  There is an estimated 250 million copies sold.

2. The Book Of Common Prayer, Thomas Cranmer

“The ‘Book of Common Prayer’ refers to the prayer book used by the Church of England. The book contains all the liturgical services and prayers for worship within the church. This is by far the top selling Christian book of all-time with an estimated 6 billion plus copies sold to date.  Not only is it the top selling book of all-time but it is also the top selling book every year!  This is and will always be the number 1 selling Christian book of all-time!
