Gloria and Bernice, Identical Twins Turn 100, Celebrate Decades of Memories

Gloria and Bernice are identical twins who turn 100 and celebrate decades of memories. You can almost hear the laughter before you see them—two women, silver-haired and bright-eyed, finishing each other’s sentences and stealing the show without even trying.

Meet Gloria Lipman and Bernice Frank—identical twin sisters who just celebrated 100 years of life, love, and sisterhood.

The Twins Turned 100

Yes, you read that right—one hundred years. A full century of memories, milestones, shared birthdays, and inside jokes that never seem to grow old. When the pair walked into a Raleigh, North Carolina, hotel room filled with family and friends, it was as though time itself stopped to honor them.

“I am the older sister by 10 minutes,” Bernice said with a playful twinkle in her eye. To which Gloria quickly replied, laughing, “I was born 10 minutes after her—and I’ve been after her ever since.”

Their Bond Goes Beyond DNA

Their bond is the kind that goes beyond DNA—it’s heart-stitched, time-tested, and full of light. And if you ask them what their secret is, they won’t give you a long list of accomplishments or a carefully curated plan. They’ll give you their hearts.

“It’s a gift of a lifetime,” Gloria said, gazing at the crowd of loved ones. “I wish it on every one of you here with all of my heart, my love, and everything I’ve ever had.”

They Are Here Because of Love

It’s hard not to tear up when you hear words like that because we live in a world that often forgets the sacredness of growing older. A culture that rushes through relationships, that sees wrinkles instead of wisdom. But Gloria and Bernice are here to remind us of what matters most—love given and taken and shared. Some of us have been blessed with lifelong best friends who become more than friends but sisters in ways we can’t describe.

“I’m here because of all the love given and taken and shared,” Gloria explained softly, “and I feel my life was just a blessing.”

And it shows.

The Twins Danced

That night, they danced. Yes, danced—gracefully, joyfully—reminding everyone that 100 years isn’t too old to celebrate life with your whole heart. Watching them move across the floor, hand in hand, made it hard to believe their age. But they both credit their long lives to staying active, mind, body, and soul.

“I’ve exercised going back maybe 50 years regularly, and I do yoga now,” Gloria shared. “And all that has contributed to keeping me alive and healthy.”

Their Hearts Are Big

Bernice added with a knowing nod, “Doing a lot of interesting things with your life keeps this going,” as she gently tapped her temple.

But maybe the most enduring part of their story isn’t their health—it’s their hearts.

“Love every single person that you meet,” Bernice said, her voice warm with wisdom. “Because most people have goodness in them. You always have to follow your heart, and if you do, you don’t regret a thing.”

They See the Best in People

That kind of person who sees the best in people, who believes in the goodness of others, is what’s kept them young. That and their sense of humor, which never seems to take a day off.

“God kept us here to see all of you age as well as we have aged,” Gloria quipped, and the whole room broke into laughter.

It’s a rare thing to live to 100. Rarer still to live 100 years with the one who’s known you from your very first breath. Though they live apart now—Gloria in Raleigh, Bernice in New Jersey—their bond hasn’t weakened with distance. In fact, they’re already planning more birthdays to come.

Their Grandfather Lived to 103

“Our grandfather lived to 103,” Bernice said with a grin. “We’re going to follow his footsteps.”

And as they look toward another year, another celebration, their story becomes more than a birthday milestone. It becomes a testimony to the beauty of growing old with grace, the richness of shared life, and the fierce, enduring gift of sisterhood.

And somehow, you know—that’s exactly what they’ve done for the past 100 years. Lifted each other up. Held hands through the hard. Laughed until they cried. And kept dancing, no matter what.
