In my high school years I have some great memories of my school dances, but to be honest I have some not so great memories too when it came to some of the songs that were played. Music today has lost integrity and morality in many of the top hits on the radio. If you are part of the team figuring out what music to play for the students, please consider what messages you are giving them. “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen is a good example of what not to play. Sure, it is very catchy and you can easily get lost in the “feel good” vibe of the song. But if you listen closely you hear lines like, “I trade my soul for a wish.” That’s a very bold and unwise decision. We all need to pay attention to what kids are listening to. 10 Christian Songs For Mission Trips

There are two proven methods for having a successful mission trip: 1.) Putting your relationship with God as your number one priority 2.) Creating a playlist of mission trip tunes. As I’ve traveled I’ve been inclined to put together a playlist of songs to listen to as we have driven, flown, or even a playlist of songs to consider for a video recap of a mission trip. Most of the time my lists includes some clean “secular”songs, but this list will only include songs from those artists who have articulated their Christian faith in public.
