February 24, 2026

Jesus' resurrection is the true reason for the Easter season and the entire basis for our Christian faith. And these easy Easter crafts and decorations are a great way to keep the focus on Jesus!
There's nothing wrong with chocolate bunnies, colorful eggs, and the many other items that have made their way into modern-day Easter celebrations. But the true reason for the season is Jesus' resurrection.

The birth, life, and death of Jesus Christ all build to the beautiful promise God fulfilled by sacrificing His one and only Son on our behalf. So, we want to make sure our little ones don't miss that powerful message.
That's where these Easter crafts come in. They are easy enough to do with kids (or alone!) and open the door to some great conversations about Jesus and the resurrection.
Easy Easter Crafts For Kids About The Resurrection
Here are some great ideas for religious Easter crafts to help illustrate the story of Jesus' resurrection. They also make for wonderful homemade Easter decorations.
1) Build An Easter Peep House -- Add a Cookie to Represent Rock at Jesus' Tomb
Marshmallow Peeps have become a staple in many Easter baskets. But they make great decorations, too. Just like we build gingerbread houses at Christmas, why not build an Easter Peep house for Easter?
One easy and fun way to explore Jesus' resurrection with a child is to help them build and decorate a "tomb" from edible items, with a peep inside representing Jesus. (Get step-by-step instructions for how to build a graham cracker Peep House HERE)
As far as easy Easter crafts go, this one is a cinch! Check out this great example by Kristina Buskirk of Toddler Approved.

Kristina used icing, graham crackers, and candy to build a tomb for her peep. She placed a cookie in front and let her kids roll it away on Easter morning.
Another Pinterest user, Terri Marsh, hollowed out a loaf of bread since Jesus is the Bread of Life for her Peep Easter craft.

"This man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. And he took it down, and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb that was hewn in stone, where never man had yet lain." Luke 23:52-53
2) Build A Resurrection Garden As An Easy Easter Craft
Using a flowering pot as the tomb and sticks to make 3 crosses, you can easily create a great replica of Calvary. (Here are the supplies you'll need to build the Easter Resurrection Garden)

"Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.' And they divided up his clothes by casting lots." Luke 23: 32-34
3) Let Resurrection Rolls Help Tell The Story
These Resurrection Rolls, also called Empty Tomb Rolls, are a fun and easy way to talk about the resurrection with little ones. (Get the full list of ingredients and recipe HERE)
In this fun easy Easter craft, kids can wrap a marshmallow (representing Jesus) up in a crescent roll (representing the tomb). During the cooking process, the marshmallow will melt away. Then, once the rolls have cooled, kids can bite in and discover an empty tomb!

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay." Matthew 28:6

4) Make An Easter Lamb Cake
This adorable cake makes for an awesome centerpiece to decorate the table for that big, Easter meal. And it's also a great way to talk to kids about the Lamb of God Jesus Christ, who laid down His life for us. (Get the full list of ingredients and recipe for this Easter Lamb Cake)
I just love an Easter craft that is both simple AND tasty!

“The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!'” John 1:29
5) Cover Sins With This Easter Cross
This amazingly simple Easter craft idea comes from former first-grade teacher Jenae and her blog I Can Teach My Child. It's an easy way to demonstrate the power the cross has to cover our sins. (Get the full instructions HERE)
Using a wooden cross (ideally one slightly hollowed out), encourage kids to write different examples of sin directly onto the cross. This can be a great conversation starter about how even adults struggle day-to-day with sin.
Next, spread a spackling compound all over the cross. During this time, talk to the kids about how this was the entire reason Jesus went to the cross. His sacrifice was a way of covering all of our sins.

This easy Easter craft delivers is a great visual representation of Christ's powerful act of love.
"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5
Easy Easter Crafts For Decorating Your Table

Easy Easter Crafts Celebrating Jesus
Making these Easter crafts is sure to be fun. But it's also a wonderful way to remember and discuss the incredible story behind the Easter season.
It's a season of hope, where the greatest love story ever told takes place. A God who loves His people so much, He's willing to send His only son, Jesus Christ, to die for their sins. So remember the beautiful words of Romans 8:38-39 -- there is absolutely nothing that can separate us from the love of God!
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
