World's Oldest Gymnast Still Competes At Age 91

At the age of 91, Johanna Quaas is the world’s oldest gymnast but she isn’t slowing down anytime soon. A lot of people think that when you reach a certain age it means you cannot participate in physical activities like you used to. That is the farthest thing from the truth and Johanna is living proof.

This German athlete has been a regular in the gymnastics community since her first competition in 1934. Over the years, Johanna transitioned into a coaching role but always made sure to keep her skills active. In fact, she stills swims and practices gymnastics each and every day. You may have even seen her on the Internet after several videos of her competing went viral.

Today, Johanna is back in Berlin, Germany for a gymnastics meet and you will be stunned by her flawless technique. I can't get over the talent and grace that this woman shows. Age really is just a state of mind. This 91-year-old is the perfect example that if we keep things moving and take care of our bodies, we too can be moving easily long after we reach over the hill status. She is such an inspiration to everyone watching in person and at home!

I certainly hope that we continue to see Johanna competing and doing what she loves. Who else hopes that they have this much fun and energy when they are in their 80s? I know that I sure do! Don't you agree, that age is nothing but a number?
