OLD NEW ENGLAND CHRISTMAS CAROL:"O SIGHT OF ANGUISH"
Tim Eriksen sings a Christmas carol with bajo sexto (twelve string acoustic b@$%! used in cojunto etc.) It's a little after the season, but the words are timeless, written by Samson Occom, the Native American Presbyterian preacher from Connecticut who was responsible for much of the early fundraising for Dartmouth College ca. 1760. See the liner notes to my CD "Every Sound Below" for more details.

O Sight of Anguish view it near
what weeping innocence is here
a manger for his bed.
The brutes yield refuge to his woe-
Man, the worst brute, no pity shows
nor gives him friendly aid.....

A Prayer to Hear God’s Voice over the World’s Noise - Your Daily Prayer - May 15
Circumstances may continue to overwhelm us, but it’s then that we need to resist the wild, noisy patterns of the world and instead embrace and listen for the internal, always present, sound, steady, still voice of God.
