Simon Makes Contestant Stop Mid-Audition And Start Over

Noah Guthrie was following his dreams when he landed a roll on the popular TV show ‘Glee.’ But when the television show was cancelled, Noah was left jobless and feeling defeated. That’s when he turned to the big stage of America’s Got Talent and decided to give performing another chance.

During his first audition, he blew the judges away with his cover of a hit pop song. When he returned to the stage for his follow up performance, the judges immediately remembered the talented singer. Then, Noah started to sing "I Would Die 4 U" by Prince. But before he was even halfway through the song, Simon held up his hands and stopped the entire performance. Simon went on to say, ‘I like your voice but I’m not sure, if I’m being honest with you, I would have chosen that song.’

The entire crowd thought that would be the end of Noah’s time on stage but Simon asked about the singer’s second song choice. Noah had prepared ‘Whipping Post’ by The Allman Brothers and Simon decided that he would let Noah give it a try. And boy am I glad that he did because this second performance was incredible. The crowd was going crazy for his unique vocals and they were almost immediately on their feet. Noah even got a smile from Simon, which is very rare.

Sometimes, I question the decisions that this notoriously tough judge makes, but this is one decision I completely agree with. And thanks to this last minute change, Noah is moving on to the next round of competition. What do you think he’s going to perform next?
