Kind Boy Reads To Cat At Animal Shelter
I just love the bond pets and children build. Caring for animals reminds us of just how vast God’s creativity is. Plus, one of life’s greatest treasures iis to have a furry companion by our side. There’s something special about it and puts a smile on your face and reminds you, all is well with the world. Now imagine this, a cat in shelter. He’s cold and alone and wishing for his forever home.
To help pass the time, a sweet little boy named Finn visits the shelter to read a story to his little furry feline friend. Research shows programs like Rescue Readers help calm animals and help young students become better readers. It’s heartwarming to see the cat snuggle up to this boy and attempt to settle in for a good story.
The story, however, may not have been to the cat’s tastes. Perhaps, the book, ‘Fly Guy Presents Dinosaurs’ wasn’t exactly what this sweet ball of fluff wanted to listen to.
The beautiful gray cat crawls up onto his lap to cuddle but he can’t seem to sit still. He’s just so exciting to have a friend! At one point the cat gives Finn a kiss to thank him for his kindness. Eventually, they give up story time as the boy realizes the cat needs more snuggles and play time instead.
Who isn’t ready for a romp around the floor with a cute kitty? This sweet cat certainly was happy for playtime, and Finn was more than happy to play, too.
In fact the precious moments of Finn taking care of this sweet guy went viral! The video was then posted on the Facebook page, Cat Man Chris, who isn’t ashamed to say he’s a guy that adores cats. Cat Man Chris shared the video and posted, “Faith in humanity restored! I love shelters that have programs where members of the public can read to the cats and help socialize them... it definitely works!”
And we couldn’t agree more. This young man reminded us of the fruits of the spirit to this homeless pet. He showed patience, love, kindness, and generosity. As it says in Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
