'Amazing Grace' A Cappella Violin Cover From Former AGT Contestant

Former America’s Got Talent contestant Tyler Butler- Figueroa performs a violin cover of ‘Amazing Grace.’ This beloved hymn was originally written by John Newton. John wrote the hymn as a way of giving thanks to the Lord after He granted him new life.

As a sailor, John was known for his crude language and actions. But one day, John found himself caught in the middle of a terrible storm. After spending hours at the helm of the ship, John’s thoughts began to turn to God.

After surviving the weather, John started his life as a Christian and dedicated himself to serving our Father. The touching words of ‘Amazing Grace’ were inspired by this incredible revelation.

“Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
T'was blind but now I see”

You may remember Tyler from his touching audition for the fourteenth season of America’s Got Talent. This talented young man shared that he started to play the violin at the age 7, after he nearly lost his life to cancer.

His treatments caused him to lose his hair and he immediately became a target for bullies. But music gave Tyler an outlet and he started to gain confidence and come out of his shell.

Now, Tyler is 13 years old and continuing to use his gift to glorify the Lord. Just listen as he plays an incredible rendition of ‘Amazing Grace.’

“T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed”

It’s such a blessing to hear the younger generation worship our Lord and there’s no better song than ‘Amazing Grace.’
