Pentecost is one of the three great festivals of the Church. Unfortunately it is not as popular as Christmas and Easter, and more critically for the Church and detrimental to its mission, Pentecost is the least understood. Maybe we recognize this celebration as the Birthday of the Church but fail to recognize whose Church it is. Think of the number of times we say, “our church.”
