May 02, 2023

One man who is more than 100 years old, and who still lives by himself, shares his keys to longevity.
Everyone hopes to have a long, healthy and happy life. It’s only natural to want to be able to enjoy the time the Lord gives us on earth. However, sickness and other unexpected circumstances can dramatically change and alter those plans.

But one man, Vincent Dransfield, has achieved that dream of a long, healthy and happy life. At 109 years old, Vincent still lives alone, does his laundry and drives, according to Today. He also goes grocery shopping on his own and does not take medication on a daily basis, according to PIX11 News
Vincent also states that he’s in great health and doesn’t experience the aches and pains that so often come with age.
“I feel perfect,” Vincent said.
The great-grandfather of seven, who was born in March 1914, has some advice and helpful tips for achieving a long, healthy and happy life.

One of the reasons for his impressive longevity is enjoying what you do in life and spending time with friends, according to Vincent.
Vincent, who lives in New Jersey, was a member of the town’s volunteer fire department for 80 years and worked as an auto parts manager for six decades.

Vincent enjoyed working as a parts manager so much that his late wife forced him to retire in his late 70s.
“I still wanted to work, but my wife said, 'It’s time for you to quit,'” he said.
When it came to the fire department, Vincent states, “I met so many friends.”
Also, Vincent says keeping a good attitude, even when things are not going well is another key to a long life.
“I keep positive. I never think any other way when something’s wrong,” he said.
Remaining active, not necessarily getting exercise, helps as well, according to the New Jersey native. He states that as a volunteer firefighter, he was active every day.

However, Vincent isn’t much of a fan of an exercise regimen. Vincent’s granddaughter, Erica Lista, states he’d question those people jogging. “Where are they going?” Erica says he’d ask.
Despite his advice, Vincent does confess that he has “been very, very, very lucky in my lifetime.” Today reports that Vincent has experienced no major sickness in life. He’s never had cancer or anything similar.
Vincent also added that God has played a role in his long life.
“I’m doing fine, and I hope the good Lord keeps me that way,” Vincent said.
