Man Graduates from Harvard Law After Years of Working As a Garbage man & Inspires So Many

A young man, Rehan Staton, who overcame many struggles early in life, got accepted to and graduated from Harvard University and has inspired many.

Life is often not a very fair experience. Some people get a decidedly more difficult hand than others. Whether growing up in poverty, not having one or both parents or some other hardship, obstacles occur throughout life.

However, one young man, Rehan Staton, did not let his obstacles stand in his way. Instead, he succeeded despite going up against some pretty insurmountable odds, according to the Good News Network.

As a child growing up, Rehan experienced poverty. His mother abandoned him, his brother and his father when Rehan was a child. He was only 8 years old when she left, according to The Harvard Gazette. Rehan’s father, who was left to raise the two boys alone, worked multiple jobs at once in order to try and provide for the family.

Rehan’s grades suffered as a result of his difficult home life. Every college Rehan applied to after high school, turned him down.

Instead of going to college after high school, Rehan got a job in sanitation. It was a job he kept for years, even after going to and eventually graduating from the University of Maryland.

After successfully completing his undergraduate degree, the sanitation worker was accepted into Harvard Law School in 2020. Now, three years later, Rehan is a graduate of the school. He now has a job with a law firm in New York City.

The Harvard Law School Graduate Is Quick to Thank Others For Their Love and Support

What a stunning accomplishment from a guy who did not have the best beginning in life. However, for all his success, he thanks and praises those around him for their love and support.

“Even though life isn’t always fair, as long as you stay committed, hungry and keep your eyes on the prize and keep a great set of people around you, anything is possible,” Rehan said.

Rehan also added how grateful and thankful he is for everything his father has done for him.

You know, I can’t really put words to it,” Rehan said. “I think the best way I can explain it is that I was just finally happy I could show my father that his sacrifices weren’t in vain. I don’t know, I can’t tell you how much my brother and I love our dad.”
