Devastated Parents Spread the Word About Mylar Balloon Danger After It Leads to Childrens' Death

Two grieving mothers are warning other parents after a mylar balloon danger led to the deaths of both of their 7-year-old daughters.

The most heartbreaking, gut-wrenching experience possible has to be whenever a parent loses their child. Parents are not meant to or supposed to bury their babies. But unfortunately, that is a sad reality many parents have faced for one reason or another.

Now, in a clip posted on YouTube, two women, Channa Kelly and Tiffany McIntyre, are trying to keep other parents from going through that tragic and devastating situation. Their children were suffocated from the helium in the balloon. Those two mothers are now speaking out following the deaths of their children from the helium-filled balloons.

Two Mothers Warn About Mylar Balloon Danger

Channa, the clip mentions, took a nap while her daughter, 7-year-old Alexandra, played with the balloons from her birthday party.

“I believe she cut the bottom,” Channa said. “And I believe she put it over her head.”

Alexandra’s mother woke up from her nap and encountered a terrifying scene, a parent’s worst nightmare. Channa found her precious 7-year-old daughter face down in the living room.

Sadly, Tiffany experienced a similar situation as Channa. Tiffany also lost her 7-year-old daughter Zahmira.

“I could see that the number 7 mylar balloon was completely over her head, and she wasn’t breathing,” Tiffany said.

The clip points out that in both cases with the balloons that resulted in the deaths of the 7-year-old girls, it’s unclear if the young women were trying to suck in oxygen in order to make the funny-sounding, squeaky voice.

A doctor in the clip warns parents that helium is dangerous. She also advises parents that if their children really want to suck in the helium to make that odd-sounding voice, they need to keep a watchful eye on them when they do it.
