Man Choking At Chick-Fil-A Is Saved By Divine Intervention

Louis Palacios wasn't ready to die. But he couldn't breathe and was running out of time. Thankfully, God put a uniformed angel in the right place at the right time to rescue the man choking at Chick-fil-A!

The father-of-two stopped to grab lunch at Chick-fil-A in Fort Bend, Texas. But it was nearly his last meal when a bite from his sandwich turned out to be too big.

Suddenly, Louis couldn't breathe. Unable to dislodge the food from his throat, panic set in as he realized he was choking to death.

"As I was choking I. . . started thinking about my family, my kids," he recalls. "And I'm like, 'Oh no, it ain't my time to go'. . . I know it's not my time to go, but at the same time it was already happening."

Louis frantically looked around the restaurant for someone who could help. And that's when his eyes fell on Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls!

Divine Intervention

Terrified, the man choking at Chick-fil-A rushed towards the officer. By this point, he was starting to black out.

At first, it startled Sheriff Nehls. Louis was a complete stranger, so the officer thought he might be coming to harm him.

But Sheriff Nehls soon realized that was not the case. He recognized Louis was choking and wasted no time springing into action.

"It was divine intervention that we ended up at Chick-fil-A at the same time," said Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls.

Using the Heimlich maneuver, three or four strong thrusts knocked the piece of chicken out of Louis' throat, saving his life.

"It's something that I've been trained to do, I'm in public service," the Sheriff explains. "I think anyone in that restaurant, though, would've done everything they possibly can to help Louis with his airway obstruction."

And Louis knows it was no coincidence that Sheriff Nehls was in just the right place at just the right time.

"I'm glad he was there at the time and I think things happen for a reason," Louis said. "God had him there. God had us there for a reason for him to save me."

Whether he realized it or not, this uniformed angel was doing God's work. And Louis' family couldn't be happier!
