Luhu May Appear To Be The Saddest Cat In The World But Looks Can Be Deceiving

Luhu went viral as the saddest cat in the world. But his somber expression is really the result of a birth defect and his story is actually quite happy!

One look at Luhu, a 5-year-old cat who lives in Beijing, China, can melt and break your heart at the same time. His downcast eyes make him look like the saddest cat in the world.

Happy Life For Saddest Cat In The World

Despite his sorrowful appearance, this sweet kitty actually lives a pretty blessed life. For starters, he's adored by his human, Maggie Liu, who took him in when he was just a tiny kitten fighting for his life.

“When he was two weeks he went to [the] hospital because his eyes, respiratory system, and reproductive system [were] born with developmental defects," Maggie explains. "My friend didn’t have much time to take care of him, so I have [had] him since 3 weeks [after] the hospital."

The saddest cat in the world also has 2 adoring siblings in the home. All of the cats share the same feline mother but each has a different father.
